A canal-side conversion where the original brick shell was kept and everything inside it was not. Warm oak against cold water.

A nineteenth-century warehouse on the Christianshavn canal, stripped to its brick shell and rebuilt inside as a single family residence.

Keep the shell, replace the logic

Kolding Værk left the external brick, the cast-iron tie plates and the original timber lintels entirely untouched, then inserted a free-standing oak volume that holds all four bedrooms and every service run. Nothing new touches the historic fabric.

This property completed in 2018 and sold in 2024. It is shown here as part of the studio’s archive rather than as a current listing.
